Why Was Qui-Gon Jinn Never on the Jedi Council?

Qui-Gon often challenged the Council’s decisions:

• He gave weight to ancient prophecies, which most Jedi dismissed as unreliable or dangerous.

These disagreements led Qui-Gon to decline a seat on the Council. He valued his autonomy and believed that true understanding of the Force required freedom from institutional constraints.

While his defiance limited his political influence within the Order, it also allowed Qui-Gon to become one of the few Jedi to glimpse the deeper mysteries of the Force. He was the first Jedi to discover the secret of Force immortality, later guiding Yoda and Obi-Wan from beyond death.
